The style I teach is a blend of Hatha (restorative) and Vinyasa (flow) yoga. I aim to help students build strength, improve flexibility, learn breath techniques to manage stress and sleep well.
I was first introduced to Iyengar yoga at school. I was an anxious, fidgety person and I couldn’t sit still but the practise helped me find calm.
As an adult I practised through two pregnancies under the watchful eye of devotional Bhakti singer and yoga teacher, Amrita Liza Lilienthal.
Later, inspired by Katrina Rayburn of Kindred Yoga, I completed 200hrs Yoga Alliance training with Frog Lotus Yoga (FLY) under Alicia Waters, Melanie Huser and Charmaine Melissa Berg. FLY is a school of yoga built on the teachings of B.K.S Iyengar and Ana Forrest.
Since qualifying I’ve continued to build my knowledge through specialist courses:
Fascia Training with Jennilee Toner 2018; Trauma Aware Training with Our Mala founder, Emily Brett 2019; Women’s Yoga Therapy Training with Dr Uma Dinsmore Tuli 2020.
Next I aim to study Yoga Nidra. I’m interested in yoga therapy and The Healing Arts & Social Justice, through the Sacred Temple of the Body, Tantra for Women (not only for biological women) with Yoli Maya Yeh.
‘Sarah’s classes always leave me feeling both relaxed and energised – she mixes Yoga and Pilates to create her own blend that is accessible and provides options for both beginners and more experienced yogis.’
‘Sarah creates a lovely atmosphere with her gentle, friendly approach & it means everyone is relaxed & has fun as well as feeling the benefit!’
‘Her classes are a saving grace in the midst of a busy week, restoring calm and sanity.’
‘My sleep has really improved since starting yoga with Sarah. After the first class I slept better than I had for ages. I started the class not able to touch my toes and a year later I feel like a different person!’
